Definition
Elapsed days from a client raising a requisition to a candidate starting. In contract staffing the winning window is often hours, not days.

In practice
For shift-based healthcare and industrial work, first submission within two hours frequently decides the placement. For niche professional contract roles, 48 hours with three strong profiles is competitive.
